Delivering Quality, Service and Reliability

Company founder Arthur Perdue's very first customer, a Jewish hospital in New York City, demanded the highest quality eggs. It was a good fit for his personal approach to business. As his business changed to providing chicks and feed to local farmers, it was Mr. Arthur's personal commitment to quality and integrity that kept his company strong through the Great Depression, World War II and a rapidly changing poultry business.

When Frank Perdue decided to introduce a branded chicken, he did his homework first—traveling throughout New York City and Boston to meet with butchers and buyers to find out what they—and their consumers—wanted from a chicken supplier. The result was not only a chicken that was measurably better than the competition, but also a level of service and reliability that set Perdue apart from other suppliers.

That tradition continues today, not just in spirit, but in the way we run every aspect of our business. In both Perdue Foods and Perdue AgriBusiness, we continuously measure quality and service levels, driving continuous improvement and setting ever-higher standards.

An infrastructure based on Quality, Service and Reliability

We recognize that Quality, Service and Reliability requires more than a corporate culture; the commitment of our associates has to be supported by an infrastructure designed to deliver the highest quality products with the highest level of service.

  • We have our own quality assurance labs at our food processing plants, soybean processing and edible oil refining. Our systemic quality assurance checks apply to our own products, and to the ingredients and materials we receive from our vendors. We have quality assurance managers at every key step, from feed mills to cooking operations.

  • Integrated software systems for inventory, orders, shipping and invoicing in both Perdue Farms and Perdue AgriBusiness help achieve ever-higher levels of filled orders, on-time delivery and accurate invoicing.

  • Each vehicle in our dedicated fleet of refrigerated trucks for Perdue Farms is equipped with telemetry to help ensure on-time delivery while monitoring trailer temperatures to ensure product quality.
